‘ve been working on building the typography for the Pine Boy logo lately pretty persistently. It takes a long time, needless to say, but I feel like the graphics are coming along and finally speaking the language of the brand. This brand is very close to being done, and as much as I really want to offer applications of the logo, such as posters for shows, interior space branding, and other collateral like season brochures, flyers or youth hand outs…I am so far behind on all brands right now I feel like it will just have to go to the wayside. Though not 100% branded, Pine Boy is on the cusp of completion, so this array of screenshots, sketches and comps will be the last round of visuals before I put a final stamp on the job.

Things [in real life] have been piling on me quite a bit, and right now I’m an entire month behind. I could just wash the whole month of January and take the hockey team on for the month of February—but I can’t. I know that I can catch up, and keep this puppy rolling. I’ve got to step up to the plate to be able to handle a continuous flow of design work. It should be my industry standard, and it will force me to be immersed in and produce quality graphic design. I’m on a trip to Puerto Rico for a week starting tonight, so I’ll be offline. But thinking, I have found, is a large majority of design. The beach, the sun, the draining of all tension for a bit could be just the thing to make the rest of February the most productive month yet on Monthly Brand.
