I feel I learned a lot from last month’s brand. I got so close to the logo, that when it came time to brand a label for an actual product, there was little room to expand. Certainly there were options, but then those options butted up against the constraints of particular collateral, like say a label for a jar of mustard.
So I learned that the uses of a logo should be something considered early on in the design process. This seems like something I truly should have been more aware of—novice mistake.
For Zenith, I need to think of where their logo will go and how it will be used. Since Zenith is a physical place they’ll need some form of signage. I’d love to do a mock of their logo on something like spa towels and a business card to take away. And perhaps, a schedule that can also be taken away and easily transferred to an email to help customers know that they can take the process of relaxing to a new level through classes, workshops or even private guidance in meditation or acupuncture.
Those are some general goals to have completed for Zenith before the end of the month. It’s a tall order, but we’ll get there.
